Herend Porcelain Manufactory – Official Trophy Supplier of the Hungarian Grand Prix again this year

2025. August 4.

In 2025, Herend Porcelain Manufactory once again served as the official trophy supplier for the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, held for the 40th time at the Hungaroring. This prestigious commission not only highlights the international acclaim of the Herend brand – a leading representative of Hungarian porcelain artistry – but also celebrates its exceptional craftsmanship and rich design heritage.

The design of the F1 trophies is based on one of Herend’s iconic patterns, Motifs Hongrois, which evokes the atmosphere of 15th–17th century Transylvanian court embroideries through tulip, carnation, and pomegranate motifs. Both the race winner’s cup and the elaborately openwork porcelain plate awarded to the winning constructor are testaments to the mastery of Herend’s artisans. Each trophy is adorned with 18-carat matte gold, lending them a distinctive elegance and value.

The creation of these unique pieces took nearly a year. The entire production process followed Herend’s traditional craft techniques, from the initial design to the last brushstroke. Winning a Herend trophy means taking home a true work of art – a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that represents the legacy of Hungarian craftsmanship on the global stage.

Specifications of the Herend Formula 1 trophies:

Drivers’ victory trophy: Height: 530 mm; Width: 245 mm; Weight: 3 kg

Constructors’ ornamental plate: Height: 60 mm; Diameter: 520 mm; Weight: 4 kg

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Hungarian Grand Prix and in anticipation of Herend’s upcoming 200th anniversary in 2026, Herend Porcelain Manufactory is launching a collectors club for Formula 1 enthusiasts. As part of this initiative, every year – in the weeks leading up to the Hungarian Grand Prix – 200 limited-edition, hand-painted Herend porcelain miniature racing helmets will be released. Each helmet will feature the same Herend pattern used on that year’s Hungarian GP trophies and will be individually numbered. The miniature helmet can be purchased exclusively through the Herend Porcelain Manufactory’s online store and shipped worldwide on a made-to-order basis. Limited to just 200 pieces per year, the helmet embodies the fusion of tradition and innovation – a piece of affordable luxury for those who view Formula 1 not just as a sport, but as a lifestyle and a global community.

Whoever wins the Hungarian Grand Prix, in the end, it's always Herend that’s lifted to the highest.
